About the Campaign
The war between Russia and Ukraine is the biggest war in Europe since 1945. The advances of the Russian army have resulted in a mandatory conscription (draft) for all men aged 18 to 60. Men between these ages must stay, fight and defend their country, with few exceptions. The patriotism and love for country/Ukraine Jessica witnessed on the ground in April when serving in Poland, was awe inspiring. The Ukrainians love their country, and they are bravely fighting to defend it. Those that have fled over bordering nations are almost entirely women and children, and those over the mandatory conscription age. These refugees are largely without resources. The war was sudden, those fleeing are crossing into border nations often with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.
Since Jessica was in Poland serving in April, things have gotten significantly worse. The war has intensified, and there continue to be thousands of human casualties. Twelve million refugees have fled their homes since Russia’s invasion. Having served refugees globally since the start of the Syrian war in the Middle East in 2016, Jessica and her daughters have developed a heart for all refugees who must flee their homeland due to war, persecution or violence. They are committed to serving in Eastern Europe for as long as the war lasts. Jessica is also committed to telling the human stories of those caught up in war, while preserving their confidentiality. But she can’t do this without the support of those that also have a heart to serve those caught up in conflict zones. It is your passion, engagement and financial contributions which make it possible for their work to continue in places like Ukraine.
If you are able to help with a single contribution, or by purchasing needed supplies, Jessica will hand deliver these items to the front lines. Partnering with us will increase our resources and enhance our ability to serve refugees who are in dire need. Thank you for your heart for refugees and the people of Ukraine.
