This summer, I have the opportunity to travel to George, South Africa to serve underprivileged children—many of whom face hunger daily and have little access to spiritual guidance or consistent love. I’ll be volunteering at a Vacation Bible School-style camp, where we’ll share the hope of Jesus through prayer, Bible lessons, crafts, and daily meals. These children, ages 5 to 17, are on their school break, and for many, this camp will be the only safe and nurturing place they’ll experience all season. I’m asking for your prayers and support if you are interested, to help me get there! Your…
If we have not had the opportunity to meet in person, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nora. I am 17 years old and a currently wrapping up my Junior year in High School. I’ve truly been blessed to live in places where I can get involved and connect with the people around me. I’ve always felt the Lord leading me to opportunities to serve, and it’s been such a gift to be able to give back and build relationships along the way. Whether serving as a Sunday school teacher, working as a camp counselor during summer VBS camps, or assisting children with special needs at my local barn, I have always strived to live through the love of the Lord. When I leaned about this mission trip to Africa, I prayed on it and realized that I could hear God calling me to join. All I can do now is pray that with your support, I can make it to Africa to do God’s work.
In George, South Africa, hundreds of children preschool age to 17 years old, are growing up in heartbreaking circumstances—many without consistent meals, safe environments, or someone to tell them they are loved. This July, while many kids are on winter break (yes – it’s Winter in Africa during our summer), I have the incredible opportunity to serve at a week-long, Vacation Bible School-style camp designed specifically for children who need it most. For these kids, it won’t just be about games and crafts—it will be a rare chance to experience kindness, receive a steady meal, and hear about a God who sees them, knows them, and loves them unconditionally. For some, it may be the only place they feel truly valued. And for many, it could be the only meals they receive that week. We’re going to sing, laugh, learn, pray—and make sure each child knows they are not alone in this world, even if they live alone on the streets of Africa.
I’m reaching out to you because you have had an impact on my life too and also, because I can’t do this alone. If your heart is moved by the thought of a child receiving a warm meal and a message of God’s love, I invite you to partner with me. With your prayers and support, together, we will pour into these children and give them the love and care they deserve. Your prayers for a safe and blessed trip for myself and for our Mission team are truly appreciated as I prepare to serve these children. If you are new to prayer or are unsure where to begin, please pray the simple prayer that I can be fully present with these kids and that their hearts will be open to the love and hope we’ll share. If you feel led to contribute financially, your support would be a huge blessing, with every dollar going towards the cost of the trip and the supplies brought for the kids. But above all, your prayers for the safety and success of this mission are what matter most. Thank you for being part of this journey, whether through prayer or support. Together, we can make an eternal difference in the life of a child who simply needs to know they matter.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in“
