Many of you knew and loved Boogie Rose, one of our former pastors here at The Shoreline who stepped out in 2008 to plant Branches Church. Sadly, Boog passed away on June 12 due to post-transplant lymphoma. We are mourning his loss, yet also rejoicing that he is in his heavenly home. We have set up a giving page to assist his family and to take care of some of their expenses moving forward. We invite you to give if you feel led.

    John 11:25
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.

Met Boogie in Mission Hospital parking lot years and years ago, where he had been visiting a homeless man. His love for this man touched my heart, so much that I encouraged my son to participate in Young Life. He was a blessing to our youth and community. Such a special man of God♥️

The Cleary Family blesses you in the strong name of Jesus with Hope that you all get Boog back! The restoration of all things is a beautiful truth that we hold onto to be reunited with Jack. We bless you all as you feel the weight of this terrible TEMPORARY loss.

In the ‘90s Boog was pivotal in our son’s life and took him under his wing through Young Life and Bible Study. It was through Boog that Justin got into Point Loma, the only school he would apply to. He would go on to officiate Justin and Michelle’s wedding at a time when he was dealing with his health challenges. Many, many treasured memories with Boog and Steph. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Steph and the kids and pray they will be blessed by these gifts from Shoreline.

We love you Rose Family. Our lives are better because of you. Thank you for loving on us over the years. I am continually aware that I wish I would have seen you both more over these last years. I am truly changed because of Boogie. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Boog exemplified what it means to “love God, love others”. We are grateful to have known such an amazing man. We love you, Rose family, and we’ll continue to cover you in prayer. -Matt & Courtney
